Gallery Groups

If you are interested in finding out more about a particular Gallery Group, please contact the relevant coordinator. 

Gallery Groups meet at the gallery, except for the plein air group, and have a minimal cost ranging from $3 to $25. While none of the groups have dedicated tutors, except the Sunday group, it is an opportunity to create and learn together. Please note, you must be a Queanbeyan Art Society member to attend an art group.

Spotlight on the Plein Air Gallery Group

In 2018, the then QAS President Barry Cranston said one day. We should have a plein air group in the Queanbeyan Art Society.

There had been some early QAS groups that over time had waned, and this new suggestion fell on fresh ears for newer members.

We settled on Tuesday mornings, and we’re still going strong in 2026. We check the weather weekly, we go out in all seasons, only stopping for heavy rain. All mediums, watercolours, oil, gouache, sketching…

The cafes after are pleased to see us, lots of coffees and other give them a big morning!
